Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani’s action spectacle ‘War 2’ saw a modest bump on Sunday, collecting Rs 1.50 crore net across all languages on its eighteenth day, according to early estimates from sacnilk. The film saw a major dip in numbers as it began its third weekend at the box office, however, it seemed to pick up pace on Sunday.
Third weekend collections
The action film earned just around Rs 65 lakh on its third Friday, and followed it up with an estimated Rs 1.15 crore collection. With Sunday’s collections, the film’s third weekend total hits approximately Rs 3.3 crore.
All India collections
After 18 days in theatres, the film’s India net total has reached Rs 234.31 crore, with a gross of Rs 278.35 crore. The Hindi version continues to dominate, contributing approximately Rs 176.01 crore, while the regional dubbed versions added a combined Rs 58.30 crore. Out of this total, the Telugu version brought in around Rs 56.1 crore and the Tamil version a modest Rs 2.15 crore. On Day 18, the film registered an overall 19.08% Hindi occupancy, peaking at 28.67% during evening shows, showing that despite slowing down, War 2 is still drawing footfalls in major metros.
Worldwide performance
Globally, ‘War 2’ has grossed an estimated Rs 355.1 crore, aided by a solid Rs 76.75 crore haul from overseas markets. However, with a reported budget of nearly Rs 400 crore, the film still has a long way to go before being declared a clear financial success.
Hrithik Roshan’s career milestone
The Hindi collections of the film have now surpassed the lifetime earnings of Hrithik’s 2014 blockbuster ‘Bang Bang!’ which earned Rs 174.5 crore, making it his fourth-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. It now trails behind ‘Fighter’ (Rs 212.79 crore), ‘Krrish 3’ (Rs 231.79 crore), and ‘War’ (Rs 303.34 crore).
Road to Rs 300 crore mark
Despite crossing key milestones, War 2 has struggled to maintain momentum after a strong opening week, facing stiff competition from new releases like Param Sundari. With its third week underway, the film will need consistent weekday collections to inch closer to the Rs 250 crore mark in India.
