Airtel down: Airtel users are reportedly facing a service outage in many parts of the country. Thousands of Airtel subscribers reported on Monday afternoon, August 18, that they were unable to make phone calls or access mobile internet.
User reports suggest that the outage began at around 3:30pm, as per outage tracker Downdetector. A majority of users (73 per cent) reported facing issues with both voice and data service, while another 15 per cent of users reported not receiving a signal on their phones and 12 per cent users reported not being able to access the internet via mobile data.

A total of 3,600 people submitted reports to Downdetector about being impacted by the outage so far. The exact areas where Airtel users are facing downtime is still unclear. The Indian Express has reached out to Airtel India and will update this report with its response.
