Amaal Mallik is hitting the headlines, but this time not just for his chart-topping songs. The music composer and singer, known for hits in films like ‘Jai Ho’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and ‘Kabir Singh’, has joined Salman Khan’s ‘Bigg Boss 19‘. And he has a clear mission, to set the record straight and show the person behind the music.
Amaal says people have misunderstood him
As quoted by SCREEN, before entering the Bigg Boss house, Amaal said, “I was very excited to say yes to this show. It’s been almost 10 years for me in the industry, and I feel people have often misunderstood me when I’ve spoken about the industry’s reality.”
Amaal is not affected by losing work
Amaal shared that he has never been afraid of losing projects, “I am not affected by losing out on work. Whenever I am removed from films or I don’t feel the right vibe, I take a backseat. When 2–3 producers fire me from big films, I happily go on a holiday, and I don’t take these things to heart.”
He wants fans to recognise his face
Although his music is well-loved, Amaal admitted that many people don’t know his face. He further added, “I want the people who have loved my music for the past 10 years to know the person behind it. I want my face to be associated with my music and the body of work I’ve created. People should recognise that it’s Amaal Mallik – not Armaan Mallik or Aditya Roy Kapur.”
Amaal says he is often mistaken for Aditya Roy Kapur, Vicky Kaushal
Amaal also laughed about being mistaken for other stars, he explained, “Whenever I wear a beanie, people mistake me for Aditya Roy Kapur. If I grow my beard, they think I’m Arjun Kapoor. When I lose weight, some confuse me with Vicky Kaushal, and if I grow my hair, they assume I’m Ranveer Singh. There’s a lot of confusion!”Amaal is opening a new chapter in his career. He hopes this will help fans understand him better beyond his music. He wants the audience to see the real person behind the songs they enjoy, and to finally clear the confusion that has followed him for years.
