Following in the footsteps of OnePlus and Oppo, Realme has announced Realme UI 7.0, its latest software version based on Android 16. Like OxygenOS, Realme’s newest operating system brings numerous visual as well as under-the-hood changes. From new features to rollout schedule, here’s a quick look at what’s new with Realme UI 7.0.

Realme UI 7.0 beta: Rollout schedule and eligible devices

Realme’s upcoming flagship phone, the Realme GT 8 Pro, will ship with Realme UI 7 based on Android 16 out of the box, but everyone else will have to wait for some time before it is available on their devices. You can see which phones will be getting the open beta update before the year’s end. If your phone is eligible for the Android 16 update and you cannot find it on the list, the update will most likely be available in the first quarter of 2026.

Realme has also refreshed the control centre, introduced a new adaptive dark mode, improved the icon layout and added new lock screen effects. Moreover, you can also use live photos and videos as wallpapers, thanks to Realme’s Flux Theme 2.0.

The company claims the update improves responsiveness by 15 per cent and daily performance by up to 22 per cent. The update also brings new desktop-style windowing (floating apps), automatically grouped notifications as well as some Android 16 exclusive security features like scam-call detection, online threat blocking and refined permission controls.

New AI features

Like HyperOS and OriginOS 6, Realme is also improving compatibility with Apple devices. This means Realme UI 7.0 users will be able to connect their device to an Apple Watch.

Realme also introduced a new feature called AI Notify Brief, which automatically offers a summary of your notifications and AI Framing Master to improve the photography experience. For gamers, the company has added an AI gaming coach which can help players by analysing their gameplay and offering insights.
