Qualcomm Technologies, on Wednesday, July 30, highlighted its vision for the future of smart mobility at the Snapdragon for India: Auto Day event. The tech giant emphasized the significance of strategic collaborations, underscored by the presence of prominent Indian OEMs at the event.

The company positioned itself as a trusted partner for India’s top automakers and ecosystem players, having powered over 350 million vehicles globally with its Snapdragon Digital Chassis. The company showcased a future-ready suite of services through its Snapdragon Digital Chassis. These comprise Snapdragon Cockpit, Snapdragon Ride, Snapdragon Ride Flex, Snapdragon Auto Connectivity, and Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud services – each tailored to India’s unique driving environment.

What does Snapdragon Digital Chassis entail?

First, there’s the Snapdragon Cockpit, which is like the entertainment and information hub of your car. It powers all the screens and systems inside, making the driving experience better. Then, you have Snapdragon Ride and Snapdragon Ride Flex; these power the Advance Driver Assistance System (ADAS), helping with in lane assist and self-drive features.

Beyond that, the Snapdragon Auto Connectivity keeps your car hooked to the internet, just like your phone. This means you can get real-time traffic updates, make emergency calls directly from your car, and generally stay connected to the world. And finally, there are Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud services. These connect the user’s car to online services, allowing for neat tricks like getting software updates automatically, controlling some car features remotely, or even unlocking new functionalities over time. All these smart features are specifically being developed and fine-tuned with Indian drivers and roads in mind.

Indian four-wheeler automotive brands that are partnering with Qualcomm

The Indian car industry is quickly adopting new digital features, and Qualcomm is working closely with top Indian automakers to bring these innovations to life. Maruti Suzuki is using Qualcomm’s tech for connected car features to improve their driving experience, whereas Mahindra is integrating Snapdragon Cockpit and Auto Connectivity for a more engaging in-car experience and staying connected to the internet on the go. Two-wheelers with Smart Tech

India’s transportation system heavily relies on two-wheelers, which are now also receiving intelligent upgrades. Hero MotoCorp is collaborating with Qualcomm to enhance the intelligence and connectivity of its motorcycles. Ultraviolette’s high-performance electric bikes are now going to be equipped with a motorcycle with a connection. The dashboards of Royal Enfield motorcycles are getting an upgrade as they will be working with connected systems. Pricol is also going to develop next-gen systems for tracking and connecting upcoming vehicles with Qualcomm.

Safe and Comfortable Driving

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis aims to make driving more comfortable and safer. They even introduced their Snapdragon Ride system in India, which helps with advanced safety features. To achieve this, Qualcomm is working with many OEM manufacturers like Autolink, Bosch, Desay, Harman, Mobis, Thundersoft, Tata Elxsi, Valeo, Visteon, and ZF.

As part of the event, Qualcomm also showcased its collaboration with FYI.AI, musician will.i.am’s AI‑enhanced creative platform featuring FYI RAiDiO and Melodic Drive, feature sets developed specifically for the automotive sector.
