Lenovo is getting ready to unveil its newest products at the Internationale FunkAusstellung (IFA) Berlin tech show next month.
Recent leaks gave some insight into what it might look like. Evan Blass, a known tipster, uploaded a picture of a prototype laptop design that Lenovo has purportedly named “Project Pivo” on X. It features a display that alternates between landscape and portrait modes.
Project Pivo’s portrait mode would be a helpful tool for writing and viewing mobile versions of websites and applications, but will have to wait and see whether it becomes a commercial product.
Blass’s post features an image of a conventional display that physically rotates between horizontal and vertical orientations. The design supports two key modes: landscape for standard laptop usage and portrait for additional vertical screen space that could be useful for reading or coding.
Blass also claimed that in addition to a variety of tablets and Motorola phones, Lenovo will also be showcasing the Legion Go 2, a second-generation gaming portable that was unveiled at CES and is anticipated to ship later this year. According to the tipster said the second-generation Legion Go will include a Ryzen Z2 Extreme CPU based on the AMD RDNA 3.5 and Zen 5 architecture.
Lenovo’s CES prototype had a 74Wh battery with 65W rapid charging capability. Up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage are anticipated. The Legion Go 2 will probably come pre-installed with Windows 11 Home.
Although Lenovo has a history of developing innovative laptop technologies–like the rollable display on the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 and the see-through ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop– these R&D endeavours are not assured to be commercially available.
