Outlook isn’t the only Microsoft service that was down. A few hours prior, users had reported that they were having problems using Teams, the tech giant’s workplace communication and collaboration platform. However, the Teams outage was resolved by Microsoft.
The outage lasted for around 20 hours, with Microsoft saying that the problem started at 10:20 PM UTC or 3:50 AM IST. And while the tech giant said it had deployed a fix, users on X were still reporting the issue. After almost 20 hours, the tech giant said that “the service is healthy by monitoring telemetry and confirming resolution with previously affected customers.”
A similar outage affected Microsoft 365 services last year, which prevented people from using services like Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive and others for almost four hours. However, the recent outage lasted almost 20 hours, which indicates that this is one of the longest Outlook outages in recent years.
