Last year, Google introduced Gemini Live, a new AI-powered feature that lets users have “a natural, free-flowing conversation” with Gemini, the tech giant’s AI chatbot. This allowed users to talk back and forth, share their screen, brainstorm ideas and get information about the world around them using the phone camera, but Gemini Live missed out on a very important feature – integration with other Google services.
Now, Google is rolling out the much-anticipated functionality that enables users to access apps like Keep and tasks while engaging in real-time conversations with Gemini Live. First spotted by 9to5Google, the new feature appears as a chip just above the full screen controls with a circular loading indicator, just like you would see when accessing a Google service in the Gemini app.
While you can directly ask Gemini Live to access Google’s first-party services, general commands like “Do I have any reminders today?” also work. As you would expect from Gemini Live, the app access also works when you are sharing the screen with Gemini.
How do I know if I have the new Gemini Live feature?

To see if Gemini Live can access Google apps, simply open the Gemini app, tap on the Live button that appears at the bottom right corner, and you will be able to see small chips for connected apps when Gemini Live is using them. For example, you can ask Gemini Live to check your events for the day, create a new one with your voice, and even point your camera at details like date and time and ask the AI chatbot to add it to your calendar.
As for Google Maps, Gemini Live can help guide you to a certain spot, and while it does not start navigation for certain events, the feature does create a link, tapping on which will start the navigation. Coming to Tasks and Keep, Gemini Live can now show your saved lists and add notes to Keep.
The new feature is currently available on both the Android and iOS versions of Gemini Live. And in case you are wondering, Gemini Live’s integration with Google apps works for both free and paid Gemini users.
