Apple Fitness+, Apple’s fitness and wellness subscription service, will launch in India on December 15, marking its largest expansion since debuting five years ago. With the latest rollout, the service will now be available in 49 countries and regions.
Fitness+ offers 12 workout types, including Strength, Yoga, HIIT, Pilates, Dance, Cycling, Kickboxing and Meditation, with sessions ranging from five to 45 minutes. Users can access the workouts through the Fitness app on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
Further, the company said that the experience can be enhanced with Apple Watch or the new AirPods Pro 3, which display real-time metrics such as heart rate, calories burned, Activity ring progress and the Burn Bar, which compares a user’s effort against others who have completed the same workout.
According to Apple, Fitness+ is designed for users at all stages of their fitness journey, offering modifications for lower-impact or limited-range movements. A diverse global team of trainers leads the sessions and frequently appears in one another’s workouts.
Custom plans
The service comes with Custom Plans that automatically build a personalised workout and meditation schedule based on a user’s preferred activities, trainers, music, and duration. Besides, users can also choose from pre-made options like Stay Consistent, Push Further, and Get Started. Workouts can be filtered by length to help users fit sessions into their day.
The Fitness+ experience comes with deep integration of Apple Music. Along with existing genres such as Hip-Hop/R&B, Upbeat Anthems and Latin Grooves, Apple is adding a new K-Pop genre across all workout types.
Fitness+ also features curated experiences such as the Artist Spotlight series, with playlists dedicated to artists including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, BTS, Selena Gomez and Coldplay. Time to Walk, the company’s award-winning audio series, returns with new episodes featuring notable personalities, including a fresh instalment with Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda.
