NxtQuantum-owned brand Ai+ has announced the NovaFlip series, marking its entry into the foldable smartphone segment. The India-based company has confirmed a Q1 2026 launch timeline, which means consumers may have to wait a few more months before the device becomes available for purchase.
Led by former Realme India CEO and co-founder Madhav Sheth, Ai+ launched two budget phones in July of this year, both of which were designed in India. Ai+ says it has plans to expand its flagship offering with the Nova series, which will also consist of models like the Nova Pro, Nova Ultra and the Nova Flip, with plans to launch a book-style foldable in the future.
The company says NovaFlip will run on NxtQuantum OS out of the box and is “designed to adapt intelligently across folded and open states.” It goes on to claim that the software has been optimised to offer core functionalities in the folded state, and that the phone will have “zero pre-loaded bloatware, no invasive trackers”, with the user having complete control over their personal data.
“Flip smartphones bring back things people genuinely miss: compactness, physical interaction, and a sense of control. There’s nostalgia in that experience, but there’s also a very modern need behind it. People want devices that are easier to carry, easier to live with, and less demanding of their attention,” said Madhav Sheth, CEO, Ai+ Smartphone and Founder, NxtQuantum Shift Technologies.
While the company is yet to reveal the hardware specifications, it did say that NovaFlip will be priced under Rs 40,000. To give you a quick recap, Ai+ entered the Indian smartphone market with the Pulse and Nova 5G, two budget smartphone that run on Android 15-based NxtQ OS out of the box.
